…where does my help come from?
Psalm 143
“Hear my prayer, O Lord; give ear to my pleas for mercy! In your faithfulness answer me, in your righteousness!” :1
“I remember the days of old; I meditate on all that you have done; I ponder the work of your hands. I stretch out my hands to you; my soul thirsts for you like a parched land.
Answer me quickly, O Lord! My spirit fails! Hide not your face from me, lest I be like those who go down to the pit.
Let me hear in the morning of your steadfast love, for in you I trust. Make me know the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul.” :5-8
Y’all. My anxiety is pretty high at the moment. Higher than normal. This makes my cough really bad.
There are so many unknowns. Life right now is crazy. I mean, whoever thought we would be living through a pandemic: a world wide virus? Whoever thought we would have to be home for a long time? Social distancing is a totally new term, but we are living it right now.
We have most things we need for quite a while. I’m thankful for God’s provision in this area, especially recently. I’m also thankful that I have spent so much time over the years learning how to make things homemade.
Camp is in an interesting place. We have to make quite a few changes and there’s a whole lot of work to keep the place afloat. We’re still figuring things out (and I’m sure this will be a daily thing), but we are trying super hard to try to make the best of a terrible situation.
We have decided as a camp family to commit to some things: worshipping together, spending time by the fire, hiking together and as a family and alone, working on projects that have needed to be completed, being better stewards by composting and recycling (and trying to have less waste), doing activities like rock climbing and zip lining together, adjusting thermostats, being better about keeping lights off that aren’t being used, and more. The kids will only be playing together outside.
I’m hoping to pour into our Walkabout students. I’m working on some “classes” for them. Share with my camp family how I have dealt with anxiety over the years and continue to. I’m sure some people are experiencing anxiety for the first time or more consistently.
I’m going to be helping my friend with his garden and I’m pumped. Our chicken coop is getting here today or tomorrow and I cannot wait to get it put together. We already have a few chicks that are outgrowing all other spaces , have lots of feathers, and are flying.
As a family we will be working hard and making some big changes. We are basically going to stop spending much of anything. Only necessary expenses. We won’t be going to town much at all. Really the only reason we would need to is for meds or doctor appointments. We are going to be spending more time outside as a family, keep our windows open, have less waste, make more homemade, and spend time with Jesus together. We will continue school because my kids need that structure. I mean, so do I.
Today I will be focusing on a few things: school with the kids, another camp meeting at 1, making some elderberry syrup, and making plans for teaching the Walkabouts things.
I KNOW God will show up in this crazy time. That He will use the sucky things for good and for His glory. That He is seated on the throne and isn’t shocked by anything. That we will all grow together. Join me in prayer during this time!
