Whew. Yesterday was long and exhausting. The day before (Wednesday), I was on my feet for 8 hours baking. Then yesterday I was on my feet for most of the day. When I went to bed last night my body was so happy to be off my feet. I slept so well but woke up so exhausted still.
A few years ago, I could have never imagined doing anything with the PTO and working events like I did.
But due to my healthy mental state I was able to get out of my comfort zone. I don’t usually handle being with new people well. I don’t usually handle somewhat crazy events without feeling completely overwhelmed and having an anxiety attack.
I did it. I worked two incentive parties yesterday. I handled it well. They weren’t completely overwhelming, and they didn’t cause severe anxiety. Just exhaustion.
Now I think can handle more and more events and things. I worked along side some amazing people. I’m thankful to have met them and am happy to get to know them.
Levi got hot chocolate spilled on him so we had to go get him some pants from the thrift store. Ethan spilled his hot chocolate all over his jacket so in the cold he had to go jacket less.
On another note… when we were at the thrift store, I found this amazing lamp shade that matches our quilt in our room. I LOVE it, and it was only $1 (and it is brand new looking).
The morning party was Polar Express. Hot chocolate, popcorn, and the movie. The assistant principal dressed as the conductor and punched their tickets as they walked in. The decor was amazing.
Then the afternoon was a Fiesta Party. I made some empanadas and a couple other ladies made some other Mexican treats. We had chips and dips and Christmas tree cookies. Hot chocolate and water. The kids had a blast!
THEN. When we came home we all cleaned up the house a bit and I got to work on dinner! Carnitas and beans in two instant pots. I’m thankful on days like this to have two! We ate on homemade tortillas. Soooo good. Our friends were here for this and hunting. I was so happy to hang out with them.
Then at the end of the day I used something I never thought I would use (Norwex makeup remover), and I am totally sold on them! The makeup came off easily and my face felt so so clean. I don’t sell them and never will (direct sales isn’t for me), but I will probably buy some more products! I am sold on them.
You just get it wet and wipe!
So, I was busy from 5:30am till 11:15pm. Usually I have zero going on. Woke up at 6:00am exhausted. I’m going to take a nap in a little while, do laundry, shower, and pack for the weekend of two more Christmas celebrations. I’m excited because I don’t see these family members often, but I’m exhausted! Haha. It’ll be good, and I’ll get lots of sleep next week! I’m so so thankful we are spending Christmas Eve, day, and several days after at home. Then on the 28th we’re heading to Glorieta to have Christmas/New Years with my in-laws.
Life is good and I’m happy to live through the long days because I am truly living life these days. I am at peace and I’m content.
